Thompson Turner Construction has played a central role in modernizing schools across Beaufort County School District, serving as the CM At-Risk for projects delivered under the District’s Capital Improvement Programs (CIP) from 2010 to the present. Our teams have completed multiple upgrades—typically within tight 45-day summer schedule windows—successfully executing complex, multi-campus work without disrupting instruction.
In close partnership with the District, Thompson Turner has delivered a broad range of improvements across all attendance zones—from Hilton Head and Bluffton to Beaufort and Battery Creek. Our work has included classroom additions, architectural finish upgrades, HVAC and fire alarm replacements, secure entry installations, kitchen renovations, parking lot expansions, athletic field enhancements, and accessibility improvements. These efforts have addressed major CSI divisions and critical infrastructure needs, aligning with the District’s evolving Facilities Master Plans and long-term capital strategy.
Beginning in 2010 and continuing through 2019, the District executed annual summer CIP cycles focused on targeted improvements during instructional breaks. These efforts evolved into a comprehensive three- to five-year capital planning model, guided by strategic Facilities Master Plans and supported by bond referenda in 2019 and 2023. This newer funding has gone to support major capital projects, including the full replacement of May River Elementary—a project Thompson Turner is currently completing. The District continues to invest in annual summer improvements in parallel with these larger, bond-funded initiatives.
Through more than a decade of collaboration, Thompson Turner Construction remains a trusted partner in delivering safe, modern, and future-ready learning environments throughout Beaufort County.
