Thompson Turner Construction served as CM At-Risk for the new Performing Arts Center and District Office for Lexington School District Two, delivering a 103,400 SF facility that combines high-performance cultural space with modern administrative operations. The project includes a 71,800 SF performing arts center featuring a 1,550-seat auditorium with professional-grade acoustics, a full orchestra pit with lift, advanced stage lighting and sound systems, a scene shop, and support spaces including four dressing rooms, a green room, and catering and concession areas.
The two-level venue also includes grand lobbies, breakout spaces that accommodate up to 300 guests, and dividable multipurpose rooms for events, training, and community use. Color-changing programmable lighting in the lobby and rotating student art displays support the center’s role as a cultural anchor for the district.
The 31,600 SF district office houses administrative suites, conference rooms, and collaborative meeting spaces, ensuring continuous use of the facility year-round. The center now serves as both a showcase for student performance and a functional space for district-wide professional development, training, and community engagement.
