Thompson Construction Group has been awarded the contract as the prime contractor for a significant hydroelectric upgrade project.

The mechanical scope of work includes the disassembly and replacement of all major components, including the runner, bottom ring, wicket gates, head cover, gate arm assemblies, shift ring, turbine guide bearing, shaft, generator guide bearing, and thrust assembly. Onsite construction is being performed by Thompson's HCMS Division, working in close collaboration with Litostroj, who will oversee the supply portion of the project.

The generator scope involves a stator restack and rewind, and the installation of new edge-wound rotor poles. This portion of the project will be executed by Jenkins Electric, with Thompson providing onsite support.

Additionally, the Balance of Plant (BOP) will feature a complete Ovation control system by Emerson, with system components supplied through both Emerson and Jenkins Electric. Installation performed by Thompson Construction Group.

This project highlights Thompson Construction Group’s continued commitment to excellence across complex mechanical and electrical scopes, delivering turnkey solutions through strategic partnerships and field expertise.
