The Central Midlands Regional Transit Authority (CMRTA) Facility was a design-build project competed in 2008 with Stevens & Wilkinson architects.
Thompson Turner Construction was responsible for the construction of the 48,500 SF administration and service facility that included administrative offices, operations and dispatch offices, and 10 maintenance bays.
The 14-acre site also included a freestanding wash facility and fueling station. Thompson Turner Construction was called in when the original builder could not get the project in budget. Not only did our team manage to meet the budget, we were able to save the Owner money that was reallocated for scope enhancements. Despite a tough start, the project was completed on time and within schedule with a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP).
