Thompson Construction Group’s Hydro Consulting and Maintenance Services (HCMS) was contracted by Brookfield Renewables to tear down two units and install new runners and rotor spiders for both units.
HCMS provided labor, onsite management, safety, and oversight for the disassembly and reassembly of the units to support the installation of the new runners and rotor spiders. All additional parts were overhauled by another contractor after removal.
HCMS also installed a new stay vane extension. Following disassembly, a new head cover was manufactured for both units after the original head covers failed the finite element analysis (FEA).
