Thompson Turner Construction and Jumper Carter Sease Architects were hired by Lexington County School District Two as the CM At-Risk for the new construction of the Brookland-Cayce High School Stadium located in a busy residential area.

A Rewarding Challenge

The stadium is home to the Bearcats’ football and soccer teams and serves as a versatile venue for various events, including state championship contests, band competitions, and graduation ceremonies. This extensive project included the construction of a brand-new stadium with a seating capacity of up to 5,000 guests. Among these seats is a VIP section comprising 224 stadium seats, specifically reserved for upper-level booster club members, ensuring an exclusive and comfortable experience for the most dedicated supporters.

In addition to the seating and structure, the project encompassed the creation of modern locker rooms and training rooms, enhancing the facilities available for athletes. These spaces are designed to provide comfort and convenience, contributing to the overall experience of both players and coaches. The concession areas were also upgraded, offering a variety of food and drink options to enhance the spectators' enjoyment during events.

The press box, another critical component of the project, provides a top-notch space for media coverage, ensuring that games and events are well-documented and broadcasted. This addition not only benefits the school’s sports programs but also increases the potential for wider community engagement and support.

Moreover, the stadium features an artificial turf field, which offers a durable and consistent playing surface for both football and soccer teams. The use of artificial turf is a significant upgrade, providing a reliable and low-maintenance option that can withstand extensive use throughout the year.

As part of the broader initiative, Thompson Turner Construction also improved facilities at Airport High School. This included the installation of a new artificial turf playing field, a state-of-the-art digital scoreboard, and the repainting of existing bleachers, further enhancing the overall aesthetic and functionality of the school's sports facilities.

These comprehensive upgrades not only improve the experience for athletes and spectators but also reflect a significant investment in the school's sports infrastructure, promising a bright future for the Bearcats and the broader community.
