Continental Tires of the Americas, LLC desired a new building inside Continental’s facility in Sumter, SC for the new Conti Seal and Silent process. Thompson Turner Construction was hired as the construction manager and completed the project on schedule in September 2019.
The new building has all necessary production facilities and infrastructure for the complete manufacturing of commercial vehicle Seal and Silent tires. The work associated with this package included the construction a one-story building of approximately 30,500 SF which included production floor space, offices, maintenance shop, laboratory, storage, breakroom, bathrooms, and utility rooms.
On the outside it included access to an unloading and service areas. The building was compromised of only non-combustible materials.
