Thompson Turner Construction was contracted by Weston Development to deliver a major expansion to the existing Engineered Foam Packaging (EFP) facility, constructing an additional 200,000 sq ft to the original 150,000 sq ft building. This significant expansion enhances the facility’s overall capacity, functionality, and long-term efficiency, positioning EFP to meet increasing production demands and future growth.
Thompson Turner’s scope of work includes tilt wall and structural steel packages, creating a durable building envelope designed for performance and adaptability. The team also installed a complete fire suppression system, performed internal concrete work and trenches to support utilities and equipment, and constructed new loading docks. General overhead electrical systems were installed to power the expanded operations.
In addition, the project includes turnkey internal office structures, climate control systems to maintain proper environmental conditions, and a double insulated roof to improve energy efficiency and durability. A security fence is also being installed around the loading dock area to enhance site safety and control access.
Beyond the expansion, Thompson Turner previously completed a $5 million upfit to the original 150,000 sq ft EFP facility in 2024, delivering interior improvements and system upgrades aligned with EFP’s operational goals and laying the groundwork for this continued expansion.
