Thompson Turner Construction, in collaboration with McMillan Pazdan Smith and Collins & Almers Architecture, delivered Design-Build services for Francis Marion University's new School of Business and School of Education facility.
Strategically located on FMU's main campus, the facility consolidates the Schools of Education and Business, providing a modern, technology-enhanced environment that supports both undergraduate and graduate programs. The building features 13 classrooms, a distance learning classroom, four computer laboratories, an open computer lab, four project rooms, a teaching materials center, 50 faculty offices, two dean’s offices, and various support staff facilities.
Architecturally, the structure blends contemporary functionality with the established campus aesthetic. A bright, open central foyer serves as the heart of the building, fostering a welcoming and collaborative atmosphere. Signature design elements—including a striking fountain, monumental staircase, and a second-floor student lounge with porch access—enhance the sense of arrival and promote student engagement
