Thompson Turner Construction was selected by Furman University to serve as Construction Manager at Risk for the renovation of the first floor of the Earle Infirmary, home to the Trone Family Mental Health Center. This 5,000 SF interior renovation involved complete demolition of the existing first-floor space to allow for the installation of a new HVAC system and a full interior reconfiguration. The new layout includes updated group restrooms, a staff breakroom, private offices, and conference areas—each featuring all-new finishes and fixtures to support a modern and welcoming mental health services environment. The scope also included targeted repairs to a shower unit on the second floor of the infirmary.
With work taking place on an active campus, Thompson Turner Construction carefully coordinated logistics and preconstruction planning to minimize disruptions to university operations. The result is a revitalized facility that enhances student wellness support and reflects Furman University’s commitment to improving mental health infrastructure.
